Series X|S, PC, Steam, Game Pass

XBOX Series X|S

XBOX Series X|S is the console home for Gears of War: E-Day. Premium early access there is October 1, 2026, and the worldwide launch is October 6, 2026. Xbox on PC uses that same clock and shares progression with the console through Xbox Play Anywhere. Steam is the other Windows store, with Standard at $69.99 and Premium at $99.99, and with pre-install beginning September 29 at 15:00 UTC. The July 30 multiplayer post names Xbox cloud next to the console and the Microsoft PC build. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass both start on the October 6 launch day, not during the Premium head start.

Local play and online play are different caps. Console split-screen is two players. Online co-op goes up to four. Competitive multiplayer goes up to eight. Horde Siege's own listing then fields twelve players in three squads of four, which is the mode's match size rather than a fifth platform. Controller support on Steam is full. Languages are a separate table under the platforms: twelve with full audio, and a further set with interface text. Ukrainian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian are not in that game-language list, even though a fan site might offer those interface languages for its own pages.

Stores, cloud, and membership

Xbox Series X|S is the living-room box, including two-player split-screen. Xbox on PC is the Microsoft Store build on Windows, tied to the console by Play Anywhere so progress is shared rather than restarted. Steam is a separate purchase and a separate library, still on Windows, still on the gold build, and still on the 115 GB SSD requirement from the PC specifications. Pre-install on September 29 covers Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Steam together in the gold note. Cloud is named. A latency budget, a save rule, and a region list for cloud are not. The plate says what the July 30 post says and no further.

Game Pass Ultimate is a membership path onto the console and onto PC, day one on October 6. It was also a path into the August 6 Open Beta early access. PC Game Pass is the PC membership with the same October 6 day-one line and the same beta path. Neither membership replaces Premium if the goal is October 1. A player can subscribe and still buy Premium for the head start. A player can buy Standard on Steam and ignore Game Pass entirely. The Collector's Edition is a physical object on top of Premium and does not change which store launches the executable. Refunds stay with the store that charged the card.

Full audio and interface text

Full audio on the Steam language list covers English, French, Italian, German, Spanish from Spain, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese from Brazil, Simplified Chinese, Spanish from Latin America, Traditional Chinese, and Finnish. Those twelve also receive menus and interface. Interface text without that full audio covers Arabic, Czech, Dutch, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese from Portugal, Russian, Swedish, and Turkish. The table keeps the store's own split, so a Polish player sees menus in Polish and hears another audio language, and a Japanese player gets both. Finnish is the less obvious full-audio entry and is easy to miss in a summary that only names the largest languages.

The list is a launch list from the store page, not a promise about future patches. It does not include Ukrainian, Thai, Vietnamese, or Indonesian. It does include Russian and Turkish as interface languages, and Polish as interface text, which matters for players who will launch the game in those languages on October 6. Subtitles are included in the interface claim the store makes with the phrase menus and interface. A separate subtitle-only column is not printed. Audio descriptions and a screen-reader note are not in the language block used here. The age-rating boards on the edition page are the other place language shows up, as content descriptors rather than as a menu language.

Who shares a save, and who does not

Play Anywhere is the share between Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. Start on the couch, continue at the desk, same progression. Steam is not described as part of that share. A Steam copy and an Xbox copy are two libraries. Cloud play, as named in July, sits with the Xbox family in that post and is not described as a Steam feature. Split-screen is console-local and two players. It is not a Steam feature in the sentences used here, and it is not an eight-player Versus match squeezed onto one television. Versus at eight players is online. Horde at twelve is online.

Handhelds named on the store page are Steam Deck, Xbox Ally X, and Xbox Ally. They are play targets, not extra stores. A Deck runs the Steam build and inherits the Steam language list and the Steam age gate, which reads 18 on the English listing and 17 on the US listing. An Ally sits closer to the Xbox hardware family. None of the three replaces the PC specification table. Pre-install still wants 115 GB free before October 1 if you are on Premium, or before October 6 if you are on Standard, Game Pass, or a late purchase. The platform decision is which library charges you. The spec decision is whether the machine can hold the gold build.
