Beta, gold, pre-install, launch
October 6, 2026
The worldwide launch of Gears of War: E-Day is October 6, 2026 at 15:00 UTC, which the gold note also states as 8am Pacific. That is the date on the Steam app and on the Xbox product page. Premium early access is five days earlier at the same hour, October 1. Pre-install is September 29 at 15:00 UTC for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Steam. The build those clocks install is the gold master Mike Crump announced on September 17, 2026. The clock on this page lays the public dates in one horizontal line so beta, gold, pre-install, and launch can be read together.
Filter the line by version. Open beta gathers the July multiplayer beta, the August 6 early access that was expected to run through August 10, and the weekend 2 SSD warning. Launch gathers gold, the September 28 spec-graphic correction, pre-install, Premium, the October 6 release, Game Pass, Ranked on October 13, the November 7 birthday gift, and the December 1 end of Season 1. Later seasons gathers the named post-launch seasons whose start dates are not printed. The line is a calendar of written dates, not a patch-note feed.
One line from the July beta to December
The September 17 gold note is the hinge. It says PC work continued after the Multiplayer Open Beta in July, which is why July stays on the beta side of the filter even though the sentence appears in the gold post. August 6 is the Open Beta early access from the July 30 multiplayer post and from the Steam pre-order note, expected through August 10. Weekend 2 then told PC players an SSD was required and hard drives were unsupported. That warning is the practical ancestor of the shipping 115 GB SSD cell. Players who only remember a summer beta should still read the September dates, because gold and the spec correction both happened after the test.
September 28 fixes an error in the launch PC specifications graphic. September 29 opens pre-install. October 1 opens Premium, up to five days early. October 6 opens the game for everyone else, including Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, on Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Steam. October 13 opens Versus Ranked and refreshes weekly challenges. November 7 is the franchise birthday gift for all E-Day players, tied to Season 2 in the season note. December 1 is the last day of Season 1: Emergence. After that, Legacy, Infiltration, Pendulum, and Devotion are named, and their start dates are not on the line because they were not given dates.

How to read the hours
Several beats share 15:00 UTC. Pre-install, Premium, and the worldwide launch are all written at that hour. 8am Pacific is the local form used for the Premium and launch beats. A player in another zone should convert 15:00 UTC rather than assume the Pacific clock is local. The gold announcement itself is dated September 17 without an hour in the short note used here. The spec correction is dated September 28 without an hour. Ranked is dated October 13 without an hour. The birthday gift is dated November 7 without an hour. Only the beats that print an hour get an hour on the line.
On October 1, 2026 the Steam purchase button still read coming soon, with the store date set to October 6. That is consistent with a page that advertises October 6 as the wide launch while Premium's earlier day lives in the edition copy and the gold note. Coming soon on that date does not move the calendar. It describes the button. Pre-order rewards, the Exfil Dom skin and the Exfil weapon skins, unlock at launch in the store paragraph, which points at October 6 for players who were not in the August beta. The beta access in the same pre-order sentence was the August window.
What the line refuses to predict
No start time is printed for Season 2 even though November 7 and the start of that season are both mentioned. The birthday gift goes to all E-Day players on November 7. The Dead Serious legendary skin arrives when Season 2 starts. Those can be the same morning, or the gift can land while the season waits. The note does not equate them, so the clock does not merge them. Seasons 3, 4, and 5 are names on a roadmap. Putting them on invented Mondays would make the line look more precise than the source. The post-launch filter holds them as one stop: named, undated.
Weapon tuning, class kits, and Versus mode titles are not dates, so they are not stops on this clock. They live on the weapon board, the Horde page, and the Versus page. The edition prices are not dates either, except for the access days already listed. A Collector's ship date for the physical statue is not in the clock because the announcement describes the object and not a delivery day. If a support post adds a ship window, that is a new stop. Until then the line a player can plan around is September 29, October 1, October 6, October 13, November 7, and December 1.
